Upstairs in the Cattleman’s Wharf Lounge, we found one of Orange County’s hidden treasures, Rick Sherman, the one-man symphony orchestra and/or New Orleans jazz band, filling the room with his usual … meaning … terrific music. It’s a small world; we first discovered Rick last May transforming a studio in Anaheim into the Performing Arts Center with his synthesizers. Chuck Howley, the man responsible for bringing Cattleman’s Wharf back to life, said he’ll continue to feature live music nightly in the third floor lounge, including Rick Sherman three times a week … Three very good reasons, in particular, for going back.
One of the most unstoppable lounge performers in this area is local legend Rick Sherman. Sherman has been a fixture on the local lounge scene for over 25 years, and he’s still going strong. The fans who have been going crazy since their favorite entertainer left the Village Inn recently will be ecstatic to learn that their guy has climbed aboard Anthony’s Riverboat, the restaurant formerly known as the Reuben E. Lee. I have never seen such a perfect fit of entertainer and room. The restaurant has a warm and intimate feel, and Sherman is the type of performer who thrives in that environment. Selecting from a vast and eclectic repertoire – from Elvis and Billy Joel to pop standards and home-spun gospel – Sherman appeals to a wide age range.
Check it out tonight, and plan on returning weekly.
Dear Rick,
I cannot thank you enough for your incredible, entertaining performance at Ron’s 50th birthday party! It’s been two and a half weeks since the party, and friends are still calling to RAVE about you! You absolutely made the party a complete success, and are the reason everyone had so much fun, fun, fun! Ron joins me in thanking you for providing the best entertainment we have ever had at a party.
We think you are super!
Thanks and Warm Regards,
Dear Saint Rick,
Yes, you are virtually a “saint” to me!! You and your band helped make our daughter Natasha’s wedding a “heavenly event”, miraculously exceeding even the high expectations that can develop in parent’s minds over two and a half decades! You worked wonders dealing with Bel-Air Country Club’s tight set-up schedule, and the quality and variety of your music captivated all of our guests, including those who crowded the dance floor, as well as those who just wanted to sit, listen, and enjoy! Please pass on our deep appreciation and gratitude to all the members of your band also. Rick, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!
Dear Rick,
The guests were delighted with your music; you really helped make the evening a great success! I was impressed by your versatility and your ability to choose just the right music for the moment. I talked with Randy today (he owns the Electra), and I told him how happy I was with your performance. I will definitely keep you in mind for future cruise events!
I look forward to working with you again in the future.
Once again, you were great! You have a great talent and are always a hit! On behalf of Debbie and all her team, we wish you the very best in all you do, and hope you will work with Project Cuddle again in the future.
Dear Rick,
FANTASTIC! That’s the best word I can use to describe your performance. I’m so glad Rich told me to contact you for our party. Your performance and personality were recognized by everyone, and I never stopped receiving compliments from our guests about you. I hope we are able to have you for another event very soon. Believe me, I will be calling!
Dear Rick,
Your entertainment at our Christmas party was stellar! The crowd was delighted, even the stuffy lawyers. I also greatly enjoyed meeting you and finding out what a truly successful Rick Sherman is like! Please accept the enclosed “something extra” as a small token of our appreciation for your performance and efforts.
Thanks for all your assistance; we wish you a Happy and Prosperous New Year!
Dear Rick,
Your performance at our party Saturday evening was all that we had hoped for- and so much more! Your “heart” and “gift” really show through your fingers and voice. Thanks so much!
